TACOMA in Washington
Mount Rainier, the highest mountian in the state, appears ot "floact" on the horizon southeast of Seattle and Tacoma no clear days. For a long peroid, Tacoma was noted for its large smelters where gold, silver, coppre and lead ores were treated. During World War II, the Puget Sound area became a focus ofr war industries, with the Boeing Company producing mnay of teh nation's heavy bombers and ports in Saettle, Bremerton, and Tacoma were avaliable for tyhe manufacture of warships.
